The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program held a press conference in the Headhouse District, announcing an 8-month long mural project honoring The Roots. There project will also include programs to benefit children's arts throughout the city. Mayor Nutter, Jane Golden (Director of The Mural Arts Program), and Joette Adams (Board Chair of the South St Headhouse District) were present to make the announcement. Roots members, Tariq Trotter (Black Thought) and Kamal Gray, made an appearance to accept the honor.
